Summer Vacation Day 17–Children of the Swamp

Only in Florida does fine dining include a little pre-dinner gator feeding session. Here we enjoy taking the children out to the local fish camp and encourage them to throw dog food at The Things That Time Forgot… otherwise how will they grow into gigantic monsters.

Please when you click threw to that, go to slide 5 to get some real perspective on the size of that thing that, until this week,  lived in the same creek my kids swim every weekend. Holy Heck, no tea-cup children here I guess. I just hope I don’t run over it’s sister with my wave runner any time soon.

 

Summer Vacation Day 14:

When it comes to Hot Dogs, we roll old school with the too cute for words hot dog roaster. The girls love the roasted taste but have a thing about black grill marks. This way we get the best of both worlds.

 

Summer Vacation Day 12–Boating with Barbie

She asked me for a string so she could tie the boat behind the Barbie Convertible and a Purple Bear could pull Barbie around.

I told her that it sounded like the beginning of a series of very bad decisions that seemed okay at the time but that Barbie would regret for the rest of life.

She looked at me like – you poor woman – and just walked away.

Come On Rain!! We’re so happy to see you we don’t even complain that you are forcing us to stay inside.

Your life will be overflowing with unicorns, of all sorts, but especially pink ones.

Summer Vacation Day 5–Nothing says summertime in the South like Homegrown Tomatoes and Minor League Ball

Nice little rain storm to help the tomatoes out

But blew out in plenty of time for us to head to the local ball park for a little Suns action.

Last Day of School

It is not possible that a whole year of kindergarten has flown by. On the other hand I feel like 3rd grade took way too long.

Proof of my growth as a Mom

I consider it proof that I’ve grown as a mom that I was as excited about the Duval Diddy Hip Hop routine as I was about that frilly TuTu.. okay maybe not quite as much but seriously almost.

This solo handstand however; which she totally nailed, set my heart pounding. I knew this was what  she was most nervous over. Was the most worried about. This is what she wanted to go perfectly. It was her moment to shine.
